Tips from a Sr. Recruiter at Palo Alto Networks

As a Recruitment Business Partner at Palo Alto Networks here in the UK, I’m fortunate to work with some brilliant people and play a part in helping grow our teams across the region. I manage the full recruitment process from the initial intake meetings with hiring managers, through to sourcing, interviews, and offer stages. No two roles or candidates are ever the same, which makes the job both challenging and rewarding.

There are a few things that really stand out for me at Palo Alto Networks.

First, there’s a clear sense of purpose in the work we do. Cybersecurity is an increasingly vital industry, and knowing that we’re helping organisations stay secure and resilient in a complex digital world gives real meaning to what we do.

Second, the culture. It’s genuinely collaborative. Everyone, regardless of role or level, works together to achieve shared goals. You’re encouraged to bring ideas forward, and people are supportive, open, and engaged.

And finally, the pace. We’re growing quickly, and that brings plenty of opportunity. It’s a fast-moving environment with a strong focus on innovation, and there’s a real appetite for doing things better, not just repeating what’s worked before.

A few top tips:

If you're considering a move into role at Palo Alto Networks, here are a few things that I think can make a difference during the process:

Understand Our Mission and Vision

Take time to research our products, our customers, and our growth journey. A solid understanding of what we do  and why it matters will help you stand out.

Be adaptable and open to learning

We’re constantly evolving. Being comfortable with change and demonstrating a growth mindset is highly valued here.

Think consultative, not transactional

Our approach with customers is all about problem-solving and demonstrating focus on the customer. Showing that you prioritise customers' outcomes and think strategically will go a long way.

Collaboration is key

We work closely across functions and regions, so strong collaboration skills are essential. It’s not just about what you deliver individually, but how you support the wider team.

Practice makes perfect!

Prepare for competency-based interviews using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). Use real-life examples to clearly demonstrate your skills and experience and make sure they show both the breadth and depth of what you bring to the table.
